Work On Your Body To Improve Any Situation

Are you stressed out due to situations around you and feel that you are walking through a minefield most part of the day? Well at most times when you begin to work things from the inside, you give yourself a better chance for the external situation to improve.
It might surprise you that most of the external situations I come across with my clients is due to their internal representation. Unless one takes ownership & begins to work on this, then there is hardly going to be any forward movement. What I  mean by internal situations is being healthy at the mind, body & soul.
Over the years, I have  worked on these three areas diligently and have seen great improvements. This area of self improvement needs to be worked on a consistent basis to improve on one’s mind,  body & soul. Some of the ways to work on this area are -
Stimulate your mind: One area which does take centre stage, when it comes to improving the overall situation is to regularly stimulate your mind and nothing can come close to regular bursts of meditation. The reason I have used the word burst here is that meditation is not something to be done for hours (in this context) but for a couple of times a day in bursts of 5-10 minutes.
Recent research has proved that it activates parts of the brain which plays a big role in one’s emotional well being. I can confidently say that over the years, it has made me dwell into the deepest part of my own sub conscious mind, to find the answers to some of my deepest questions. Kindly refer my previous Blog on Meditation to begin small and in no time, you will thank me for helping you take this journey.
Stimulate your body: Eating healthy & regular exercise has more than convinced me, that it helps in stimulating the body in such a way that it has direct effect on the way we manage our external environment. This not only improves the overall quality of your life but also plays a major role in helping you process better the information at the Sub conscious level.
Through  regular exercise you are conditioning your muscles (depending on what you choose) which makes it easier  to condition the mind and the thought process. By eating healthy you are feeding “one of the most powerful systems” in the world with rich nutrients to help it be in peak condition.
Do you fill up your flashy automobile with adulterated fuel knowingly? I can guarantee you that nine out of ten people  will reply in the negative. Well if this is the case with just a materialistic thing, why can’t it be followed when it comes to your own body.
Stimulate your Soul: I am sure this will surprise many of my regular readers, since you would have found over the years, my articles never addressing anything religious. However when it comes to our soul, it is a different thing that I am talking about and it has got to do more at the metaphysical level. One of the easiest ways to connect with your soul is to “Live with an attitude of gratitude”.
Begin small and be compassionate towards people. Do things for others, not expecting anything in return. Trust people (not blindly) and be open to situations in this world. Always be ready to help someone. There is always more than enough opportunity around for each one of us to begin with. Once you connect with your soul,  it is magical and the universe gives back more than you give to others. this I say this with experience and not hearsay.
Improving your life is a journey, which can be a wonderful story for others to emulate. The choice is always yours to be taken. I see many gifted individuals throw away their wonderful careers, life and years of effort in a minute of not having self control. if they had worked on the areas I have mentioned above, they would have given themselves a fighting chance of overcoming the situation &  fulfilling their true potential..
Most of my Blog articles resonate the deep interaction I have with my clients during my weekly coaching sessions. I hope that these words would have impacted each one of you. I would love to hear your thoughts on the above and will look forward to hearing  from you, on my email id coach@satishrao.in or at my Face book fan page.

Make Enthusiasm Your Best Buddy

I  have seen more than enough people in this journey over the years as a Life & Wellness Coach who stop pursuing their dreams due to a  lack of Enthusiasm. Even though this is a state of mind just like everything else, I see more and more people stumbling with regard to this obstacle more than any other.
Remember it is absolutely critical to be enthusiastic and focused on goals, be it personal or professional. In many cases these will be interlinked. I too was trapped in this exact predicament of not having the drive or enthusiasm to pursue some of my biggest goals and realized that  when you are cornered the only best option is to come out with all our guns blazing.
Detailed below are my learning’s through this journey of riding the Enthusiasm wave  -
Stop worrying: Well this is easier said than done. I am aware of this, but unless you make the conscious decision to stop worrying  you will not begin the process of working towards your biggest goals.  Remember that what is only a thought in your mind right now will begin to grow on your fears when you begin to focus on it.
When I was trying to overcome the habit of smoking many years ago,  I was worrying about the fact that I was going to fail & stopped trying. When I stopped trying, I did not realise then that I failed by default. Therefore stop pressing the default button in your own mind and begin to take the steps towards your goals by not worrying.
Take action: Worrying breeds more worry and the only way you can break this neural pathway in your own mind is to take action. Say you are worrying about facing up to your boss. Worrying more on this will eventually make you much worse. The smarter way would be to take some steps on a daily basis to help you move towards standing up to your boss. Once you overcome this in your mind, I will guarantee you that it is just a matter of time before you actually do it in reality.
As i say in my Coaching Call that “Everything does happen twice, First in the mind & then eventually in reality. So do the first part right and the second one will eventually follow.
Keep the fire growing: When I was travelling in some of the coldest parts of the world , I remember we had kept our  camp fire burning nonstop for more than 36 hours because it was the only source of heat for us. I remember vividly playing a major role by making sure enough wood was in place to keep it going.
In fact by the end of the 36 hours we had gathered more than enough to keep it going for another couple of days. The Same logic is what I have applied to my own journey as a Life & Wellness Coach – keep the fire growing by feeding it regularly.
Enthusiasm breeds progress: This is one of the most important lessons in life I have learnt over the last couple of years whilst working with my clients as their Personal Coach.Following up on the first couple of steps mentioned above  is bound to generate Enthusiasm in any individual and this is what magically helps you move towards your goals.
Once you like something you do not see it as an effort in doing the same things repeatedly.  you are operating at the sub conscious level and the changes are taking place at the deepest level which in the long run does impacts you positively.
Remember that these done repeatedly will eventually make you what you are and help you reach some of the biggest goals in your life. Once you make Enthusiasm your best buddy in this journey called life, then nothing will sound impossible because once you are driven from inside then small distractions and irritants will not derail you in the years to come.
Enthusiasm is something which always works from the inside out and hence in my book does have lot more role to play in each of our life.
As usual I would love to hear from you on what makes you enthusiastic in your own journey on my mail Id coach@satishrao.in or at my Fan Page .Also if you do feel this Blog has impacted you, then take some time out & share it with your family & friends.

How To Work Towards A Calmer You

Being calm is not something with which all of us are bestowed but something each one of us can work towards and eventually master. Haven't you wished many a time that a calmer response or reaction could have altered the course of the situation completely?
Being calmer not only helps you to rationalise your thoughts but also makes you stand out amongst the lesser mortals who lose their cool at the drop of a hat.
Some things which each one of you can do to definitely improve on the calmer barometer is what I have addressed below -
Kiss and makeup before you sleep: Most of us tend to carry our anger, resentment with us when we go to sleep and inadvertently feed our sub conscious mind. A simple few kind words to thyself or to the other person will help you to calm down a few notches and earn some brownie points in the sleep department.
This is the most critical thing one can do consciously to work on being calmer since the maximum time the sub conscious mind has got to work is when you go to sleep. You would not want to feed it trash before it begins to process the maximum right?
Irrespective of how your day or evening has ended, ensure you do spend the last ten minutes focusing on empowering thoughts, through the approach of meditation & visualization which I have touched upon couple of months back through my  Blog articles.
Stop Multi tasking: With more technology at our disposal, multitasking has become bane of urbanisation. Recent research has time and again proven that the Multitasking road is riddled with errors and it maximises the stress level, which eventually wreaks havoc on your calmer Quotient.
Even though some are good at multitasking,it is humanly impossible to be doing a couple of things at the same time and expect lady luck to be at your side all the time. Pick on one or two most important tasks and get to the next task once you finish the previous one.
This is the thumb rule I have been following from past couple of years & can’t say enough of it’s amazing  effects.
Take regular time outs: This is something which I have been doing consistently over a period of time. The Human brain cannot focus on something all the time and it will stress you out, when you do push the envelope.
Work on a 75-90 minute time-frame and regularly take a breather like walking up to somebody or even to the farthest of the wash room. What this does is similar to how one is advised to look at the farthest object every couple of minutes if you are focusing on something intensely.
Your heart also will thank you if you can manage to do this a couple of times in a day and before you realise it you would have accumulated some decent exercise too.
Eat more fruits & vegetables: Over the years whilst working with some extremely stressed out individuals I have seen a magical transformation in their stress level due to they following this one habit which will play a critical role in calming your nerves.
The concoction of feel good hormones and fibre will help you along with the shifts mentioned above  which begin to happen at the sub conscious level.
When you practise the above simple steps, you will notice the positive shifts happening like I have seen with many of my clients over the years. For those of you who are reading my Blog for the first time I am a big advocate of keeping it simple and uncomplicated.
These action steps mentioned above will work magically like it has with so many of my own clients over the last couple of years.See what suits you and begin the journey with a first few steps in the right direction & in no time you will be accelerating towards your vision of a calmer you
Working towards being calmer is not something which you are doing for yourself but also for the people around you with whom you spend so much time & work for.
I am sure you will have some more strategies worked out over the years which have helped you work towards becoming calmer. I would love to hear this on my email coach@satishrao.in  or on my Face book fan page.

Get Motivated & Stay That Way

Have you had days where you are absolutely motivated and felt you could do just about anything? Well all of us go through these patches at times in our lives but somehow miss out on ensuring that we stay motivated at all times.
Motivation is a state of mind and in my professional career as a Life & Wellness Coach I more often  come across people who only know about motivation as a word in the dictionary.
Working with people who find being motivated an insurmountable challenge, has given an insight that getting there is a step by step approach like anything else. Some of the things to begin with whilst working on being motivated are -
Act with purpose: When my clients reach out to me, the first question is to find his/her purpose. Once if someone is aware of this, then you will automatically create direction in your thoughts and eventually in life.
Our thoughts are ultimately what make us and having more clarity & knowing one’s purpose will eventually make one act with purpose. I have seen many people seeing this with a myopic vision, whereas the exact opposite is what is required.
Be responsible for your own results: Once you take ownership for your own results, then it is never about getting it right or wrong but about taking one step at a time in the forward direction.
You continue to move forward towards your goals even when you encounter setbacks. There is no magic involved here but the pure logic of being accountable.
It is something like sitting next to a driver and seeing the things go by and thereafter switching roles to be the driver of your own life.Everything changes when you have absolute control of the vehicle and in this case it is your own life.
Perfection comes at the end of the journey: Humans are not only creatures of habit but also most of them do want things absolutely perfect. Many miss out on life – waiting for the perfect time to start, which both of us know never comes.
The real joy of achievement doesn't come from what you achieve but from your efforts in trying to achieve it. This is exactly what I help my clients discover, when I work with them through the weeks of intense coaching .
Once this shift happens then most do not look for perfection but for sustenance. They would have realised that perfection will eventually come and one does not need to strive too hard for it.
Invest on your health: I have hardly come across anybody who is highly motivated and does not invest some time on being healthy. There is a direct correlation between being motivated & health.
Hence I spend a greater part of my time with my clients in working towards their overall wellness, which in an indirect way helps them be absolutely motivated.
When people ask me as to what keeps me motivated to do the things I do, i tell them that the key reason is that  I focus on my health every day of my life and it is a priceless long term investment.
What this eventually does is that it drives me to walk the talk.
Spend more time with motivated people: I am a big advocate and believer of being influenced and studies have proved that “People around you” play a big role in keeping you motivated.
Hence it is prudent that you do keep away from energy drainers and spend some quality time with people who energize you. Put social network to good use.
I am always on the lookout through this forum for people, who inspire others and never miss an opportunity to learn & if possible connect with them. With technology at our fingertips this is a daily ritual for me.
If you harness the amazing power of social network then there are more positive story you can share just like me.
Being motivated is definitely a step by step approach. Some of the things which  over the years has worked for me & my clients is what I have shared with you through  this Blog article.
If you relate to my thoughts then i would appreciate if you can share this amongst your family & friends. I will also look forward to seeing  a few words in the comments section of my Blog on www.satishrao.in or on my Face book fan page.
Some words of encouragement from each one of you sure does keep me motivated.

How To Work On A Sluggish Metabolism

Are you aware that your body burns calories more efficiently, as long as you do not get in its way? Metabolism is the natural way of burning more calories and over the years, I have noticed that some of the things mentioned below are what makes it crawl.
Most of the people are under the impression that to lose weight, one needs to starve and spend hours & hours in the gym. Well on the contrary it is just the opposite. When I work with some of the busiest executives, ample free time is something which is far fetched. Therefore the most effective way is to work round it and ensure that the metabolism is always kept high.
If you are a busy entrepreneur, solopreneur, CEO or even a student some of the things which slow down one’s metabolism according to me  are -
Erratic eating schedule:  One of the most common of the mistakes I come across with people is an erratic eating schedule. What I mean here is that people have no particular time for eating, but generally tend to eat when they have time. The moment I see someone’s eating pattern I am sure there is more to it because hunger pangs will work on emotions and thought processes, which together will make you respond in ways, you will not be proud of when you look back.
Latest research has proved that that eating at the same time every day, trains the body to burn more calories between meals. With so many additional benefits, ensure you make time consistently on a regular basis to feed yourself with  healthy nutritious food
Compromising on your sleep: With so many things happening around us, it is not unusual to see people spending a couple of hours in front of the television. The worst one can do is to ensure a television in the bedroom, which more often than not will make you push the envelope when it comes to hitting the snooze button.
What I have noticed over the years is that people who sleep less tend to move less the next day and before you know it “less movements” would have become a habit ingrained @ the subconscious level. With latest research proving that Sleep deprivation actually reduces the amount of energy your body uses at rest, it is imperative that you get a grip on this and do whatever it takes to form a regular sleeping habit.
Sitting for too long: Over the years with technology improving, most of us have developed the habit of sitting far too long than required. I had at one point of time succumbed to this malaise, but over the last couple of years I ensure that I stand up and work for at least 40% of the time. Not bad for someone who hardly meets people right.
Well if you use some ingenuity, you can also ensure that you are on your feet for a couple of hours at work/home or even at school. Are you aware that it takes just 20 minutes of sitting to inhibit one’s metabolism? Therefore you can imagine what is does when one sits for hours at a time.
Some of my clients who were facing this exact predicament, have evolved and inspired me so much by  taking more than ten thousand steps a day  on a more than regular basis.
Drinking less water: All of your body’s cellular processes, including metabolism, depend on water. If you’re dehydrated, you could burn up far fewer calories. Drinking water not only helps in cranking up the metabolism, it also helps in removing harmful toxins including unwanted energy levels from the system.
Remember overconsumption is worse than drinking less and irrespective whether you are a man/women stick to healthy range of “two to three lts” daily to begin with.
There are other factors also which does  play a role in a sluggish metabolism. However the four mentioned above play a direct role according to me from what I have observed and learnt working with some incredible people.
Ensuring that each one’s metabolism is always at an optimum pace is something which is in our absolute  control. Most of the people ignore this key component, in their overall wellness and eventually play a big price in the long run. If you are looking at working and cranking up your metabolism then the road map explained above is a good beginning.
I will look forward to hearing from you on your thoughts, regarding metabolism at my mail id coach@satishrao.in or on myFace book Fan page

How To Live An Authentic Life

Off Late, an increasing number of people reach out to me as to how can they find the courage to lead a  life which is exciting and not just normal and monotonous.I am glad that even now in this materialistic world, more people are keen to live a life of simplicity with a purpose and passion.
I had chosen to travel this road many years ago and when I look back now, Life is not about being focused with money or an accumulation of things, but living with integrity to self.
Over the last couple of months I have people get in touch with me, who feel that there is something missing in their life. The good part is that they do know that it is possible to get to a life which can be rich, deeply satisfying and meaningful. However when it comes to finding the courage to be themselves they lose direction.
Therefore i will detail below how, this could be possible  through my own experience-
Slow down your pace: What I have seen  is that most of the people are in such a hurry to run through the day that they forget and miss out on opportunities which will eventually help them to be Authentic. Once you give some space to yourself, then it is just a matter of time before you find answers to some compelling questions.
When you begin to slow down at the conscious level, your thoughts tend to slow down  automatically as well. As with all the things begin small, like by stepping out into the open and taking a deep breath to connect with nature. It might sound simple but remember some of the biggest changes and shifts from the inside  are as simple as taking a deep breath.
Disconnect one in a while: We all are used to having information at our fingertips, that we do not realise that  we are constantly bombarded with things to do, work on and learn/unlearn. Even though this is good for most of the time, it will not for sure help you to listen to your own voice, which is the key to being your authentic self.
I try to disconnect myself from almost everything, for at least an hour every day. This gives me a great opportunity to hear my own voice and sharpen my own authenticity. If one hour sounds a bit too much try for ten minutes to begin with and you will be surprise yourself.
Explore and experiment: Most of the time what stops each one of us from being our own authentic self is being happy of doing the same things again and again. It might be monotonous, but who cares as long as we get through our day. You know that even our muscles stop growing if you keep doing the same exercise repeatedly. The Learning from this is to “explore and experiment” to find your own authentic self.
New ideas and experiences are what keep us fresh and alive. Our authentic selves thrive on them and when we expose ourselves to new things, we have the opportunity to grow. Do not shy away from creating an opportunity to do something new, challenging and if it leads us to fail, so be it.
Inculcate fearlessness: Living without fear is not about being rash but stepping away from a pessimistic mindset & doing the things you have always wanted to do. Fearlessness comes from stepping up and rising to the occasion. This requires courage & bravery and just by showing up, you have won half of the battle in the mind. The rest is to be resilient and not take small failures to heart and use it as a stepping stone to success.
When I walked this journey of being a Life & Wellness Coach I had to overcome the biggest fear of losing out on my corporate job with a guaranteed paycheck at the end of the month. I feel that each one of us has the potential to lead an authentic life. For some it might be just below the surface & for others it might be deep down.  At the end of the day it is just a matter of when you can be your authentic self but never if you can…… .
I hope that these words have inspired some of you to  live a  life of Authenticity. I would love to hear from you  and if you would love to add something do feel free to reach out to me at my mail Id coach@satishrao.in or on  my Face Book  Fan page.I will look forward to hear from some of you.

How To Break Bad Food Habits?

This article is primarily for people who eat without giving much thought to what they  eat & mostly succumb automatically to the hand to mouth motion. Of late I have observed that most people who are stressed, tend to move on an autopilot mode, when it comes to eating.
Over the years I have observed that people tend to get a third of their food consumption through  snacks and not necessarily the healthy ones. On the contrary most of the snacks that people consume are invariably loaded with Tran’s fats & sugars. This is a “nutritional disaster” since man made snacks have a double whammy, which makes one not only gain pounds but worse plays with your emotions.
Not many realise that this has a similar effect or worse, compared even  to Nicotine & Alcohol. I have observed and noted that this is a pattern which usually develops with both men & women. I will try and detail a strategy for healthy eating if you are getting stuck with some of these.
You tend to slip up in the late evenings: Most of the people tend to be more than disciplined during the day but somehow the feeling of the day ending makes one drop their guard. More often than not I have seen the maximum overindulgence of unhealthy food happening at this point of time.
The effective way to ensure you do not fall in this trap is to begin your day with a healthy breakfast and ensure you keep eating every 2-3 hours throughout the day. Also remember  your last meal which ideally should be at least a couple of hours before you do hit the sack.
You slip up at work: With most of the companies well equipped with treats for the employees, it is not a surprise that most mindlessly indulge in unhealthy eating during meetings or impromptu coffee breaks during the day. The most effective way to get over this is to carry healthy treats with you to work, say dark sugar free chocolates, fruits or even dry fruits.
What I have seen with many of my own clients is that, once there is an alternative to junk food around our workplace, we are conscious about it. Then it is just a matter of time before we dig into our own carry bag rather than polishing of the snack in the cafeteria.I too feel in this trap couple of years back, and effectively overcame this with this one strategy.
You work from home: Companies offering the work from home option, will make one grab anything and everything from the home kitchen. I have seen this more often than not, when people work from home. The most effective strategy here is to ensure that one maintains a journal of food intake which makes one more accountable and conscious of their food habits.
Once you realise where you are slipping you can take corrective steps before it does tend to  become irreparable.
Your family does not eat healthy: More often than not I hear this one liner & by now I already know what is coming. I have seen more than enough people who get foodstuffs for the kids at home and eventually end up eating more than the kids. Well the logic which is most effective  is “out of sight- out of mind”.
Therefore make an effort to ensure that all the sugary treats are out of reach of your family and try to work on eating healthy as a team. This works only when you make the conscious decision to not stock any more junk food at home. There are loads of healthy choices available and it just requires a little bit of ingenuity from your side to make it work.
Breaking a habit is not difficult but as with all new habits there has to be an effort internally as well as externally. I am sure you would have been able to relate to my thoughts here. I come across people struggling to overcome their food habits but through a step by step approach, most of them will eventually move on to eating healthy.
As usual I would love to hear from you on my mail id coach@satishrao.in  or Facebook Fan Page

Membership Rules For The “Super Achievers Club”

Who are super achievers and what do they do differently? Well working with some of the biggest super achievers in their respective fields, over the last couple of years, has thrown some amazing insights which I will detail in the next few paragraphs.
Working as a Life Coach has inadvertently given me some great opportunities in working with some amazing people. I have always believed that being great in any particular area is about a plan,  than about random action. If you are ready to take your life to the next level then read on as to where & how  one can begin this incredible journey -
Dedicated to a vision: Majority of the super achievers have a clear vision and know exactly where they intend to be in the near future. we all know that creating a vivid future at the sub conscious level makes one immensely focused and not give up, in spite of insurmountable obstacles.
More often than not I have noticed that super achievers  are absolutely dedicated to the vision and are stuck to the trajectory irrespective of any distractions.Somehow the blinders on the horse also works on the same principle. It always ensures that in this case, the horse always sees ahead and do not get distracted.
Intelligently persevere: Super-achievers intelligently persevere—meaning they know when to pivot. When faced with setbacks, instead of doggedly using the same tactics that aren’t working, they examine the problem and figure out what will work. I  remember working with a young entrepreneur who was more than ready to do odd jobs before actually stepping up to become the owner of an OEM to a fortune 500 Company.
Perseverance will pay in the long run and you will eventually create an opportunity to take a shot at your vision.
Manage Emotions: One important key trait I have seen with Super Achiever is that they have evolved in managing their own state and more importantly with people around them. This is one of the key aspects because the higher the “Emotional quotient” of an individual, the greater will be their tolerance level in the Journey called life.
Most of the super achievers do not cling on to Emotional patches in life, but quickly move on.This particular trait I believe, does tend to come naturally and not with too much of an effort.
Constantly Evolve: Evolving is the fundamental rules for new learning and adaption. Once a person takes the initiative to evolve then it is just a matter of time before one knocks on the door of  success regularly. Our environment rapidly changes around us sooner than later. If one is aware of the arena, it gives an individual an edge over the others. Somewhere I notice that many people reach here and begin to stagnate.
Work for the long haul: If one is looking at a short time success then he/she is sure to crash & burn as fast as one ascends.Working on developing patience, helps one make intelligent decisions and most importantly continue working on the larger vision, without looking at immediate rewards. Somewhere in the journey people tend to forget about the adage that “Rome wasn't built in a day”
When I read about some of the most successful people be it any area, the One thing I notice is that they tend to do things more consciously because they have most of the things I have mentioned above, ingrained at their subconscious level.
Working on this is a step by step process. It is not for only a lucky few but for each one of you who have come this far in my Blog article. If you are looking to join the super achievers club then do reach out to me for a “No obligation introductory call“where we can discuss about how we can begin this wonderful journey.
I guarantee you that you will tap into some of your most potent inner strengths, which you never realized  you had.
As always I would love to hear from you on my thoughts and also as to what you do think of this particular blog article on my mail Id coach@satishrao.in or at my Facebook Fan page.

Work On Your Will Power Muscle

Have you gone through the experience of starting with a healthy habit and in no time going back to where you began or worse much further back? Well, do not be surprised as I have gone through this learning curve many times over the years and in the process picked up learning’s on working on my own willpower Muscle.
Will power like every other Muscle in the human body is something which each one of us can condition and strengthen every day. Over the years whilst working with highly stressed out executives and self made Entrepreneur’s as their Wellness Coach, I have realised that when stress levels peak, that is when the willpower crumbles. At this point in time, most of the people go with what they have been used to over the years.Sound familiar, well read on.
This is one of the reasons I highlight the fact that it is critical to ensure that each one of us eats right and exercises, especially when times are stress free. However it is not impossible to break away from a bad habit, if one does know to a certain extent how our thoughts and sub conscious work at one’s will power. Bad habits and reactions are created by doing things repeatedly.
In order to overcome this, one needs to create new empowering habits which eventually help in creating neural pathways in the brain. Some of the things which according to me will give you more than a fighting chance to develop your own will power are -
Pick one thing at a time: when people look at working on some changes, they tend to work on too many things. This is something your brain will reject and ensure you land up at the starting point sooner than later. Therefore look at identifying small things like eating, sleeping on time and other changes in your lifestyle, which your Brain does not perceive as a threat but as an insignificant change.
Once you work on small things there is something called as momentum, which each one of us can ride if we are conscious about it. Some of the biggest & long term changes have happened to me and my clients with this one simple logic.
Be consistent: If you are working on a new habit it always helps to be consistent. I know that you would have heard this before but what I mean by consistent is say you have began going to the gym in the morning, stick to working out in the morning time on a regular basis, till such time you make time for the other things, which you perceive as important and stop giving excuses.
In my experience working with people in helping them ingrain some great healthy habits, I have seen that if one sticks on to a 2-3 week time frame then more often than not it helps in creating new neural pathways in the brain which are nothing but an empowering habit called will power.
Be aware of the social & environmental triggers: Most of the things we do on a default mode are usually through some triggers around us. Say you are struggling to give up smoking and tried @ the conscious level to give up on the cancer stick but failed miserably like me many years ago. Here, being aware of the triggers helps to work around the habit. Once I realised my triggers, I just had to ensure that I do not fall into the trap.
Train your mind: There are quite a few ways one can train the mind to develop an empowering habit and in this case it is developing a strong will power. I am a big believer of the power of the sub conscious level and certain that the biggest changes usually happen at this level.
The only effective language the sub conscious understands is through images and it helps visualise vividly how each one of you are working on your own will power. What this does is that it helps in creating new neural pathways in your brain which the conscious mind just picks up when faced with reality.
Over the years I have worked on my own will power with some of these step by step approaches and it has worked for me wonderfully well. I am sure that you can pick and choose which one works for you and build things around it. I would love to hear from you as to how effective this approach would be in working on your own will power.
